Winter 2009 is upon us, and with Granny’s (my Mom) arrival this afternoon, Mommy and Daddy have flown the coop. Our destination lies 750 east, southeast of us in the Rockies — Winter Park, CO ! Tonight, we knocked off 340ish miles and grabbed a room in Ogden, with 400+ to cover tomorrow as Tate and Laura set out from Chadrock to join us. Then, after a tasty meal (and generous libations) we will retire to our Condo on the mountain. Friday, we’ll cook up some grub, then mosey a few steps to the lifts and begin tearing up the groomers.

On Saturday, we loaded up the family truckster, bound for McCall. On Sunday, Tyler is going to try his feet at skiing. He has been somewhat wishy-washy about the adventure, but after lunch at Sonic and a Sonic Blast for desert, he was pumped.
The wee ones napped for about an hour of the 2+ hour drive north. They loved the motel room, but dinner was a minor disaster. Nora ate some, but Tyler’s stubborn streak shone brightly. They had live music and dancing at The Pancake House where we ate, and Nora enjoyed the vibrance in the air.
