To Vegas or Bust
Along I-84, east of Twin Falls, the pickup flipped 77777 on the odometer. Time to head to the craps table !
The pickup is now 7 years, 7 months old as well. 4 years ago, the pickup had 57,000 miles on it, about 15,000 a year on average. Now, with the Tahoe picking up the majority of the trip duties, the average over the past 4 years has been 5,000 miles per year.
The Rest of the Journey
After lunch, the slower part of trip insued as we headed east to Walcott Junction, then picked up WYO230 toward Saratoga. The wind was stiff, perpindicular to us...with more snow along the road than along the interstate. We hit patches of snowpack here and there, but the pickup handled it with ease.
We hit Winter Park just a few after 3 as Tate and Laura rolled in, almost arriving at the same time. Woohoo, let the fun begin.
Colder in Evanston
Temps plumeted coming up Echo Canyon, dropping to 5 degrees at the Utah/Wyyoming border. We grabbed a little go-go juice on the east side of Evanston where it was 9 degrees, and we shoved off at 08:40. Mileage was a little lackluster at 17.02mpg. T-minus 7 hours or so until we rendevous with Hagman company at checkpoint Winter Park.
Cold n Crisp
In the teens but clear along the Wasatch...departure at 07:12, 76672 on the odometer.
