Lightning
Around 17:50, a house two down had a direct lightning hit. Appears to have hit their roof, and fried the electrical. The box in back under a tree blew, as did all their sockets (came out of the wall). See the tree in the pic below.
We seem ok, other than a dead circuit (bonus room). Idaho Power is on their way.
FD tore out a hot wall, and is now tearing open the roof.

Well, it looks like it got some more. We have a lamp that won’t turn on and looks like our reciever is shot. :’(
That’s the neighbor’s back yard, and yes, they are growing corn.

We had an electrician out on Saturday — turned out to just be a couple GFCI outlets that did their job and blew in the process. Lost a couple splitters on the cable as well — a few minutes from the CableOne guys and that was fixed and the interwebs was back.

The absolute best part of this was Tyler and I were on the phone together when it happened. He yelled “WE ARE UNDER ATTACK” and promptly hung up. Priceless.

Wow. When we got hit it fried the phone lines under the house!! mega volts in them when the phone company checked the lines!! Karl Lankford and myself had to run all new lines and new phones too!! lucky ducks!!
