Headin Home
After doctoring the kids, we met Grannt, Gramps, Aunt Lauren, and Aunt Jane at the Virgin River Casino for breakfast around 8:30. The kids were pretty low eb, and nibbled at their "Dueces Wild" -- two eggs, two strips of bacon, two sausage parties, and two pancakes, but they did sip some OJ.
We hit the road at 9:40, heading northeast out of Mesquite on I-15. Originally, I planned to head up into Utah a bit, then cut northwest into Nevada on 2-lands, but decided it might be best to head up I-15 to Ogden and then I-84 into Idaho.
For those unfamiliar with southwesten Urah on I-15 around St. George, the Virgin River punches through the dry, barren mountains in the narrow Virgin River Gorge. Now, I-15 punches through as well, and, although I-15 destroyed the natural beauty, it offers those on the road a beautiful view.
After passing through the gorge, we entered St. George and began a steady climb from around 800 feet of elevation in Mesquite (I think) to 6000 feet 100 miles up the road.
